Seedsheet Pinwheel Party

With three delicious flavors to choose from, there’s a pinwheel roll for everyone, or create your own flavor straight from your Seedsheet garden! Try savory Sundried Tomato and Herb, spicy Cayenne Apple, or zesty Dill Pickle.

This simple Pinwheel process makes creating new flavors a blast!

What you'll need:

  • Cutting board and knife
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Large spoon
  • Plastic wrap
  • Ingredients listed for each Pinwheel flavor below!

Sundried Tomato and Herb Pinwheels:

  • 2 tomato flour tortillas
  • 6 oz cream cheese, room temperature
  • ½ cup sundried tomatoes, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup mixed fresh herbs, chopped (parsley, thyme, chives, sage, scallions, basil, sorrel)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

1. Mix together cream cheese, sundried tomatoes, freshly chopped herbs, and salt and pepper.

 

2. Using a spoon, spread half of the mixture in an even layer onto a tortilla, all the way to the edges.

3. Roll the tortilla starting from the edge.

4. Wrap the roll in plastic and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
5. Remove from fridge and cut into rounds.
6. Arrange onto a platter and sprinkle with more fresh herbs if desired.

 

Dill Pickle Pinwheels:

  • 2 spinach flour tortillas
  • 6 oz cream cheese, room temperature
  • ½ cup dill pickles, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • ¼ cup fresh dill, chopped
1. Mix together cream cheese, pickles, and garlic.
2. Spread half of the mixture in an even layer onto a tortilla, all the way to the edges.
3. Sprinkle on fresh dill.
4. Roll the tortilla starting from the edge.
5. Wrap the roll in plastic and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
6. Remove from fridge and cut into rounds.
7. Arrange onto a platter and sprinkle with more fresh dill if desired.

 

Spicy Apple Pinwheels

  • 2 whole wheat flour tortillas
  • 6 oz cream cheese, room temperature
  • ¼ cup fresh cayenne pepper, chopped
  • ½ cup apple, julienned
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Cilantro to top
1. Mix together cream cheese, and fresh chopped cayenne pepper.
2. Spread half of the mixture in an even layer onto a tortilla, all the way to the edges.
3. Thinly slice the apple into thin sticks and mix with lemon juice.
4. Sprinkle the apples onto the cream cheese mixture, lain horizontally.  
5. Roll the tortilla starting from the edge.
6. Wrap the roll in plastic and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
7. Remove from fridge and cut into rounds.
8. Arrange onto a platter and sprinkle with fresh cilantro if desired.
